Mangaluru, Aug 1: Carmel School CBSE, successfully conducted its Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) annual general body meeting for the academic year 2026–27 on July 28 in the school auditorium. Separate sessions were organised for the parents of grades I–V and grades VI–X, providing a valuable platform to strengthen the partnership between parents and educators in nurturing the holistic development of every child.
The primary section programme commenced with the ceremonial welcome of the dignitaries. The gathering was graced by Fr Roopesh Madtha, chief guest and resource person; Sr Rosevera AC, principal; Sr Savitha, vice principal; and Tanvi Amin, vice president, Parent-Teacher Association. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp symbolised the triumph of knowledge and wisdom and was followed by a prayer song rendered by teacher Shanti and group, invoking God’s blessings on the gathering.
Sr Supreetha extended a warm welcome to the parents and introduced the chief guest. During the high school session, the programme began with the prayer song, followed by the welcome address delivered by Sr Savitha, vice principal, who highlighted the importance of meaningful collaboration between parents and teachers in shaping responsible and confident learners.
In his keynote address, Fr RoopeshMadthaemphasised that parents and teachers are equal partners in moulding the character, values, and future of children. He encouraged parents to maintain open communication with their children, spend quality time with them, and work hand in hand with the school to foster responsible, compassionate, and confident individuals. He further stressed the importance of nurturing children with discipline, strong values, and empathy. An interactive session followed, during which parents actively shared their questions and concerns.
The meeting also celebrated the achievements of students. In the primary section, class toppers of grades I to V and students who had secured 100% attendance during the previous academic year were felicitated for their dedication and perseverance. During the high school session, grade X board examination achievers (2025–26), along with their parents, were honoured for their outstanding academic performance. The toppers of grades VI to IX and students with 100% attendance were also recognised for their excellence and commitment.
As a token of gratitude, Sr Rosevera AC, principal, presented a memento to the chief guest. Addressing both gatherings, she shared the school’s vision and academic priorities for the year 2026–27. She emphasised the importance of continuous cooperation between parents and teachers in creating a nurturing learning environment and expressed her sincere appreciation to the parents for their unwavering trust and support.
The names of the newly constituted PTA executive committee for the academic year 2026–27 were announced by Deepthi, marking the beginning of another year of active collaboration between the school and the parent community.
The primary section programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks proposed by Sandhya, while the high school session concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Sharada. Both sessions ended with the National Anthem.
