Itanagar, Aug 4: Arunachal Pradesh para shuttler Biri Takar delivered an impressive performance at the BWF Para World Circuit in Brazil, winning a gold medal in the men's doubles event and a bronze medal in the men's singles category.
The double-medal haul marks another significant achievement for the para badminton player on the international stage and adds to India's growing success in para sports.
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu congratulated Takar on his achievement, praising his dedication and commitment to the sport.

In a post on social media, Khandu noted that Takar is a beneficiary of the Chief Minister's Award to Champion Excellence in Sports (CM ACES) programme and said the athlete's success reflected the positive impact of the initiative in nurturing sporting talent in the state.
He said Takar's international accomplishments would inspire young athletes across Arunachal Pradesh to pursue excellence in sports and bring greater recognition to the state at global competitions.
