Asan (South Korea), Aug 4: India's badminton players will begin their campaign at the Korea Masters 2026, a BWF Super 300 tournament, which gets underway on Tuesday in Asan, South Korea. The tournament will conclude on August 9.

The spotlight will be on 17-year-old Tanvi Sharma, who enters the competition with confidence after clinching her maiden BWF World Tour title at the Taipei Open last Sunday. With PV Sindhu and Unnati Hooda opting for a break, Tanvi will spearhead India's challenge in the women's singles event.

In the men's singles, former world No. 1 Kidambi Srikanth returns fully fit after finishing runner-up at the US Open and will lead India's campaign.

India has fielded a strong contingent across all five categories. The women's singles lineup also includes Malvika Bansod, Anmol Kharb, Isharani Baruah, Aakarshi Kashyap, Ashmita Chaliha, Tanya Hemanth, Mansi Singh, Rakshitha Sree Santhosh Ramraj and Shriyanshi Valishetty.

Besides Srikanth, India's men's singles challenge will feature Kiran George, Mithun Manjunath, Tharun Mannepalli, Rounak Chouhan and Saneeth Dayanand.

In the women's doubles, Priya Konjengbam and Shruti Mishra, along with Sonali Singh and Ritika Thaker, will represent India.

The men's doubles competition will see Krishna Prasad Garaga and Pruthvi Krishnamurthy Roy, Bhargav Ram Arigela and Viswa Tej Gobburu, and Achutaditya Rao Doddavarapu and Pochana Arjun Reddy in action.

India's mixed doubles campaign will be led by Ishaan Bhatnagar and Shruti Mishra, Dhruv Rawat and Maneesha K, and Sathwik Reddy Kanapuram and Radhika Sharma.

However, India's top men's doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will miss the tournament as Satwiksairaj continues to recover from a shoulder injury.

The Korea Masters is considered an important preparatory event for Indian players as it offers valuable ranking points and match practice ahead of the 30th edition of the BWF World Championships, scheduled to be held in New Delhi later this month.
