Udupi, Aug 4: The written audition round of Daijiworld Chanaksha Challenge Season 4, an inter-school quiz competition for high school students organized by Daijiworld Udupi Studio under the banner of Kishoo Enterprises, was held at Trinity Central School, Perampalli, on August 2. Around 400 students from various schools participated in the auditions, marking another milestone for the popular knowledge-based competition.
The audition round was symbolically inaugurated by the dignitaries in the presence of students, teachers, parents and organizers.
Speaking on the occasion, Walter Nandalike, founder and managing director of Daijiworld Media Private Limited, said that the journey of Chanaksha Challenge from its first edition to the fourth reflects its growing popularity and acceptance among students and parents. He said, “I sincerely thank Kishore Gonsalves, managing director of Kishoo Enterprises, and the entire team for organizing this wonderful event. Every student participating in today's audition has reached here because of the encouragement and support of their parents. While academic marks are important, they alone do not define success. Competitions like Chanaksha Challenge are an extension of classroom learning and help students develop general knowledge, confidence and critical thinking. The country's top IAS, IPS and IRS officers excel not only because of academic scores but also because of their knowledge and overall personality. Through initiatives like Chanaksha Challenge and the Abhivyaktha debate competition, Daijiworld Udupi Studio is committed to nurturing these qualities. I urge parents to motivate their children to participate in competitive examinations and focus on developing soft skills alongside academics.”
Dr Virupaksha Deveramane, consultant psychologist at Dr A V Baliga Memorial Hospital, lauded Daijiworld Udupi Studio for stepping beyond media and providing a platform for students to discover and nurture their talents. He said, “Every participant present here has already achieved something by being selected from among many students. Believe in your uniqueness and avoid comparing yourself with others. Every day offers an opportunity to learn, improve and become a better version of yourself. While this competition tests your intellectual ability, it is equally important to develop emotional intelligence. Understanding and managing your emotions is essential for personal growth. Never be afraid of failure, as it teaches valuable life lessons and makes us more compassionate human beings.”
Fr Dominic Sunil Lobo, principal of Trinity Central School, Perampalli, said that today's generation has grown up with smartphones and artificial intelligence, but knowledge remains the greatest asset that no one can take away. He urged students to cultivate the habit of reading, thinking and responding, adding that lifelong learners are always more successful. He also appreciated Daijiworld Udupi Studio for identifying and encouraging young talent through the quiz competition.
Quiz master and renowned anchor Alwyn Danthy congratulated all participants for qualifying for the audition round. He pointed out that the students had already distinguished themselves by being selected from among hundreds of students in their respective schools. Referring to the symbolic inauguration featuring a model of the human brain, he remarked that curiosity and questioning are the foundation of learning. He also highlighted the remarkable journey of Chanaksha Challenge over the past four seasons and assured participants that the competition would continue to uphold fairness and impartiality.
The programme commenced with a prayer by the choir team of Trinity Central School, Perampalli.
The highest-scoring teams from the written round will qualify for the upcoming studio rounds of Chanaksha Challenge Season 4.
