New Delhi, Aug 5: A high-level Iranian delegation led by Acting Minister of Science, Research and Technology Masoud Shamsh Bakhsh arrived in New Delhi on Wednesday to participate in the 13th BRICS Education Ministers' Meeting, scheduled to be held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, from August 5 to 7.

The delegation also includes Mohammad Nabi Shahiki Tash, Iran's Deputy Minister for Technology and Innovation at the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology.

Confirming the visit, the Iranian Embassy in India said the delegation would take part in the three-day ministerial deliberations and also undertake scientific and technical visits to several leading Indian institutions during its stay in New Delhi to promote bilateral cooperation in research and technology.

The Ministry of Education, under India's BRICS Chairship 2026, is hosting both the 13th BRICS Education Ministers' Meeting and the 3rd BRICS Senior Officials' Meeting in Bhubaneswar.

The meetings will bring together education ministers, senior officials and delegates from BRICS member nations to discuss key areas of cooperation, including strengthening early childhood care and education, skill development through the BRICS Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Cooperation Alliance, collaborative research, innovation and start-ups, mutual recognition of qualifications, and capacity building for academic leadership.

According to the Ministry of Education, the ministerial meeting builds on a series of engagements held under the BRICS Education Track during India's chairship. Earlier this year, the first and second BRICS Senior Officials' Meetings were held in April, followed by the BRICS Network University Conference and International Governing Board Meeting in July, helping shape the agenda and proposed outcomes for the ministerial deliberations.
