Mumbai, Aug 6: A 40-year-old man and his 14-year-old son were killed while two other family members were injured in a knife attack at Rahul Nagar in Vikhroli (West) during the early hours of Wednesday, police said.
The deceased have been identified as Sunil Vishwakarma and his son Shlok Vishwakarma. Both sustained severe injuries in the attack and were declared dead during treatment at Rajawadi Hospital.

Sunil's wife Anju Vishwakarma and their younger son Vivaan Vishwakarma also suffered knife injuries and are undergoing treatment, according to Mumbai Police.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the incident occurred following a dispute over loud music. Police said a quarrel broke out after an objection was raised regarding the music, following which members of both sides allegedly got involved in a physical altercation.
During the assault, family members were attacked with fists, kicks and a knife, police said.
The Parksite police have detained two persons identified as Surendra Vishwakarma and Suraj Vishwakarma in connection with the case. Police said that arrests and formal charges are yet to be confirmed.
The crime scene has been secured and forensic teams are examining the spot. Police are investigating the motive and reconstructing the sequence of events while further legal procedures are underway.
