New Delhi, Aug 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched new artificial intelligence initiatives at IIT Delhi and urged graduates to use their knowledge and skills to address complex national challenges and create solutions for the future.

Addressing the institute's 57th Convocation, Modi described artificial intelligence as a major opportunity for innovation, leadership and future-ready entrepreneurship. He encouraged students to look beyond conventional career goals such as salaries and placements and focus instead on creating an impact through their work.

Modi said the real test of life is "out of syllabus", requiring curiosity, resilience, independent thinking and the courage to explore solutions to challenges for which there may be no established answers.

He highlighted India's expanding opportunities in areas including artificial intelligence, technology, research, semiconductors, drones, startups and self-reliance, calling on young professionals to take advantage of these emerging sectors.

The Prime Minister urged the graduating students to develop an entrepreneurial mindset and contribute meaningfully to India's development rather than restricting their ambitions to traditional career paths.

He said India's technological growth and expanding innovation ecosystem were creating opportunities for young people to take leadership roles and develop solutions with the potential to benefit society at a wider level.

Modi also stressed the importance of innovation and self-reliance, encouraging the graduates to pursue ideas that can strengthen India's capabilities in critical sectors and contribute to the country's long-term development.

The Prime Minister's address came as IIT Delhi conferred degrees on its graduating students, with the institute highlighting the role of its alumni and students in advancing research, technology and innovation.
