Mangaluru/Udupi, Aug 9: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the coastal region, forecasting the continuation of rain accompanied by strong winds.
In Mangaluru and the Dakshina Kannada district, the overall intensity of the rainfall has notably decreased. Mangaluru city experienced light showers for a brief period, while the rest of the day remained mostly sunny with intermittent cloud cover.

In Udupi district, moderate rainfall was reported on Saturday morning, which later gave way to a mix of sun and clouds. While some rural areas received normal rainfall late Friday night and early Saturday morning, taluks including Udupi, Kundapur, Byndoor, Brahmavar, Kaup, Hebri, and Karkala witnessed windy, cloudy, and sunny conditions during the daytime.
Meanwhile, houses belonging to two families in Hosangadi village of Kundapur taluk suffered partial damage due to the wind and rain.
