Mangaluru, Aug 10: The Ullal police have arrested two individuals, including a notorious rowdy-sheeter, for allegedly creating a ruckus and threatening the public with a sword at Vinamra Bar in Thokkottu.
The arrested have been identified as Mohammad Shakir (31), son of Hussain and a resident of Margathale in Ullal, and Ashfaq (28), son of Umarabba and a resident of Manchila, Ullal. While Shakir is a known rowdy-sheeter who works as a welder, Ashfaq is an auto-rickshaw driver.



The incident took place between 12:00 am and 12:20 am on Sunday night. According to authorities, an inebriated Shakir voluntarily went around brandishing a sword and threatening the public. He arrived at the bar in the auto-rickshaw driven by Ashfaq, wielded the weapon, hurled abuses, and threatened the staff to close the establishment.
Panic gripped the customers drinking in the bar, who were seen running helter-skelter in fear to save their lives. The entire incident was captured on the bar's CCTV cameras, and the footage quickly went viral on social media platforms.
Following the incident, the police acted swiftly and apprehended the duo. A case has been registered against the accused under the Arms Act and other relevant sections of the law. Shakir already has several criminal cases registered against him at the Ullal police station. Further investigation is underway.
