12-year-old Kanwariya dies after falling under tractor wheels

Bareilly, Aug 10: A 12-year-old boy died after falling from a tractor-trolley carrying a group of Kanwariyas and coming under its wheels in Bareilly district on Sunday night, police said.

The incident occurred in the Bithri Chainpur police station limits.

The group was returning to Bisalpur in Pilibhit district after collecting Ganga water from Kachla Ghat in Budaun district, police said.

The deceased was identified as Nishu. He was travelling on the tractor-trolley when he suddenly fell and came under its wheels. He died on the spot, police said.

Circle Officer (Highway) Devesh Singh said police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident and took necessary action.

Police said the family took Nishu's body to their home in Bisalpur without opting for a post-mortem.
