New Delhi, Aug 10: MPs from the Nationalist Congress Party-Sharadchandra Pawar (NCP-SP) met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday and raised several issues concerning their constituencies, including drought, onion prices and pollution in the Chandra Bhaga river.

However, NCP-SP MP Supriya Sule said no political discussions were held during the meeting, which lasted around 15 minutes.

Speaking to Hindustan Times, Sule said the MPs raised various constituency-related matters with the Prime Minister as Parliament was not functioning.

"We had to take these matters as the House is not running," Sule said.

NCP MP Dr Amol Kolhe also urged the government to name the new Navi Mumbai airport after Diba Patil, popularly known as DB Patil.

Kolhe further demanded that Bharat Ratna be conferred on social reformers Jyotiba Phule and Savitribai Phule, along with Shahir Anna Bhau Sathe and Saint Tukdoji Maharaj.

"We also raised issues related to Pune-Nashik Metro, PM Gati Shakti from Sambhaji Nagar, the JNPT port and also the railway line of Kalyan to Murbad," Kolhe told HT.

The MPs also discussed various infrastructure and development-related concerns during the meeting.
