Kaup, Aug 10: The unruly behaviour of private express bus drivers has once again come to the fore on the Kaup service road along National Highway 66.
On Monday morning, the drivers of two express buses heading towards Udupi from Mangaluru abruptly halted their vehicles on the road and engaged in a heated argument, creating an atmosphere of panic and confusion among the locals.

The dispute, which reportedly stemmed from a disagreement over bus timings, began between the drivers and conductors inside the vehicle. It soon escalated as they stepped down and continued their verbal duel right in front of the passengers.
Although local residents and auto-rickshaw drivers intervened and attempted to pacify them, the warring crew members continued their altercation for nearly 10 minutes.
Such unruly behaviour by express bus crews has become a frequent menace at the Kaup service bus stand. Just two weeks ago, a similar incident took place, following which the police had taken strict action against the offenders.
With the recurrence of this public nuisance, frustrated locals and passengers have strongly urged the authorities to initiate stern action against these bus drivers as well.
