Udupi: Motorcycle rider dies after crashing into roadside tree at Kelaparkala

Udupi, Aug 11: A 24-year-old man died after the motorcycle he was riding crashed into a roadside tree at Kelaparkala, Udupi, late on Monday night, August 10.

The deceased has been identified as Sanath.

According to the complaint, Sanath, along with his friends, had travelled to Manipal on Monday night on two motorcycles. After having dinner, the three left for home at around 1:25 am.

Sanath reportedly rode his friend’s motorcycle while his friends followed him on another motorcycle.

While proceeding along the Udupi-Agumbe National Highway from Manipal towards Parkala, Sanath allegedly rode at high speed and in a negligent manner. When he reached near the Gopalakrishna Temple at Kelaparkala Down, he reportedly moved towards the extreme right side of the road and lost control before crashing into a roadside tree.

The impact threw Sanath, along with the motorcycle, into a roadside drain. His friends and members of the public rushed to his aid and shifted him to Hospital, Manipal, in a vehicle.

However, doctors examined him and declared him dead.

    G lan cia, your concern is really heart touching/understandable. But, we cannot go and teach everybody who rides/drives. It should be in their sense ! When they understand the value of their beautiful life which this universe has given to live and if they sit and meditate for a while and realise what would their parents may go through on seperation??!!! They Should not think of rash driving and also driving without consumption of ebriated drinks.....and then accidents can be avoided to a great extent. RTO s should be more strict when issuing licence. Only thing we can do is we can pray for the ppl for their safe journey to and from. Om sadgathi Sanath. Sympathies to your loved ones!

    Its really sad young people drive so negligently ,ring their own life in danger ,ring sorrow ,sadness to their parents.While one need not do stunts or show your muscles .Your own security and others when someone is with you is very important.Did they have any drinks during meals which might have influenced driving?Specially during driving at night should be more careful .Heartfelt sympathies to family.May his soul rest in peace.,

    Young people need to realize the value of their lives and drive responsibly. I do not know how to make them understand the importance of road safety. It is heartbreaking that so many young people have lost their lives because of reckless driving and a failure to consider safety. May his family and Friends have enough strength to bare this loss. RIP
