Media Release

Mangaluru, Aug 11: The Justice K S Hegde Institute of Management (JKSHIM), a premier constituent institution of Nitte (Deemed to be University), officially inaugurated the orientation programme for its 29th MBA batch (2026-28) at the Institute Auditorium.

The event showcased why JKSHIM remains a top destination for management education, combining world-class academic rigour with strong career prospects. The ceremony opened with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by a warm welcome address delivered by faculty member Dr Sheetal Kumar M.

Chief guest Dr Harsha Halahalli, Registrar of Nitte University, addressed the gathering of dignitaries, parents and incoming students. He highlighted the university's top-tier leadership, prestigious national and international accreditations, and deep-rooted institutional culture. He reaffirmed the institution’s founding vision - building leaders who contribute meaningfully to community development and nation-building, reassuring parents that their children are entering a supportive, high-performing academic environment.

Demonstrating the global reach of a management degree, Guest of Honour Ganaraj Kamath, Global Portfolio Planning Leader at Hewlett Packard (HP), Bengaluru, positioned the MBA as a launching pad for future global leaders. He highlighted the vast world of opportunities opening up in a promising and rapidly expanding Indian market, noting how the curriculum directly prepares students for corporate success. Stressing the critical role of personal discipline, he urged the new batch to build strong conceptual foundations, stay ahead of industry trends, "be the gorilla in every segment," and develop into versatile all-rounders.

Dr N S Shetty, Professor Emeritus at JKSHIM, shared the unmatched scope of knowledge an MBA offers compared to traditional degree paths. He noted that JKSHIM equips students to navigate today’s VUCA global economy by instilling the essential "5 Cs" (Character, Courage, Competence, Creativity, Commitment) alongside the "5 As," which focus on sharp analytical capabilities and adaptability.

Welcoming the new cohort into the JKSHIM family, Director Prof (Dr) Sudhir M set the stage for the transformative two-year journey ahead. He introduced the institute’s distinguished faculty and outlined the rigorous, industry-aligned training designed to turn ambitious graduates into corporate leaders. The session concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by faculty member Dr Melanie Pius D’Souza, followed by the National Anthem.

JKSHIM continues to set benchmarks in management education through cutting-edge curricula, expert faculty mentorship and a strong placement record across top multinational corporations. To learn more about the programmes, visit: nitte.edu.in/jkshim
