Mangaluru, Aug 12: A fisherman who had gone fishing from the Mangaluru fishing harbour has gone missing after falling into the sea from a boat near the estuary, with a case registered at the Pandeshwar police station.
Narayan (31), a resident of Koderi Gangebail in Kirimanjeshwara village, was fishing with boat driver Ravi and fishermen Vishwanath, Ganapati, Ashok, Praveen and Durganna.
The group had set out from the fishing harbour on August 3 for fishing. At around noon on August 9, when the boat was near the estuary, Narayan fell into the sea after being hit by strong waves.

The other fishermen on the boat immediately searched for him and also informed the crew of other boats in the vicinity. However, Narayan could not be found anywhere. The search operation is continuing.
Narayan’s brother lodged a complaint at the Pandeshwar police station on August 10, following which the police registered a case.
