Mangaluru, Aug 12: Students of grade 2 of St Theresa’s School conducted the 80th Independence Day Assembly with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. The special assembly was organised to commemorate India’s Independence and to instil in the young Theresians a sense of patriotism, unity and responsibility towards the nation.

The school vice principal, Sr Vidya, was present for the programme. The celebration commenced with a solemn prayer service seeking God’s blessings for our nation and its people.

The students presented a variety of patriotic programmes, including inspiring speeches, patriotic songs, poems and a colourful cultural presentation. Their performances beautifully reflected the courage and sacrifices of our freedom fighters and reminded everyone of the values of freedom, peace, unity and service. The students remembered and honoured the brave freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the country.

The students also highlighted the importance of being responsible and good citizens. They were encouraged to respect the nation, uphold its values, care for the environment and contribute positively to society.

Sr Vidya delivered an inspiring message to the students and reminded them that true independence comes with responsibility. She encouraged them to be kind, honest, disciplined and respectful, and to love the country not only in words but also through their actions. She emphasised that everyone should work together to make India a better, peaceful and beautiful nation.

The celebration concluded with a message of gratitude and a renewed pledge to cherish the freedom one enjoys and work together towards building a better and stronger India.

The Independence Day celebration was a meaningful and memorable experience for the primary section, filling the hearts of all present with patriotism, gratitude and pride in nation.
