Mangalore: Cricketer Irfan Pathan Gives Pleasant Surprise at Airport

Mangalore, Mar 25: People at Mangalore Airport were in for a big surprise on Sunday March 25, when Indian cricketer and heartthrob Irfan Pathan arrived by the 11.30 flight.

He was on his way to Kasargod to attend a programme later in the evening.

The visit was unknown and unexpected, and came as a pleasant surprise to the peolpe at the airport. As soon he walked out of the airport building, scores of people surrounded him.

Several people tried to take photographs with their phones, being unprepared for autographs and camera shots.

The all-rounder returned their affection with smiles. However, he did not speak to the media nor remained at the airport for long. He was whisked away by bodyguards into the car that was waiting for him.

The people who mobbed him hardly got to spend a few minutes with their star, but it was enough to make them remember the moment for a long time to come.

    I really dont understand how those people from kasaragod and malabar region make so much money in such a short duration. from past 5 years on every vacation i think it will be my last day in gulf and dream of setting up business in my native place all the way in flight , every time i have to return back with heavy heart

    Irfan Pathan grew up with his half brother Yusuf Pathan in a mosque in Vadodara,Gujrat.Pathans father was a muezzin.His parents wanted them to become Islamic scholars.But,both of them took interest in cricket.Destiny made them cricket superstars.Both represented India.
    Irfan is my favourite allrounder.He saw ups and downs many times.How can Indian cricket fans forget his HATRICK against Pakistan in a test match.? WELCOME TO KASARGOD via Mangalore...

    This is not a surprise visit, his visit was well planned in advance and it was known to all from Kasaragod, you could see banners from Thalapady to Kasaragod. His visit was for launching ceremony of win touch palm meadows Residency.

    There is nothing unusual, if people mob their favourite cricket star. After all Irfan Pathan is a soft spoken and a lovable person, far better than some of the arrogant celebreties.

    See the car BMW with special number plate which came to receive him. Must be having contact with influential personality in Kasaragod. Irfan is a cricket star and people get excited to see cricket and film stars...He didnt visit Mangalore but used Mangalore as his transit point...So its not welcome to Mangalore but welcome to transit in Mangalore is more appropriate here..
