Guest lecture on 'Professional Role of Cabin Crew in Modern Aviation' held at Srinivas University

Mangaluru, Aug 13: The Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University, organised a guest lecture on the topic “Safety First, Service Always: The Professional Role of Cabin Crew in Modern Aviation” on August 12 at 11:30 am for the second and third year BBA Aviation Management students.

The session was delivered by Vaishak Subramanian, senior cabin crew, Air India, who shared valuable insights into the professional responsibilities and evolving role of cabin crew in the modern aviation industry.

During the lecture, Subramanian emphasised that cabin crew are safety professionals first and service ambassadors always. He discussed key aspects of the profession, including aviation safety procedures, passenger service excellence, effective communication, teamwork, situational awareness, emergency preparedness, professionalism, and adaptability in dynamic operational environments.

The interactive session provided students with practical industry exposure and a deeper understanding of the critical role cabin crew play in ensuring safe and efficient airline operations. Students actively participated in the discussion and gained valuable career-oriented insights.

The event was successfully conducted with the support and guidance of Dr Pavithra Kumari, dean; SWO, HoD’s, guest lecture coordinator, along with the coordination of faculty members and staff of the Institute of Aviation Studies.

The guest lecture proved highly beneficial in bridging the gap between academic learning and industry expectations, inspiring students to develop the essential competencies required for a successful career in aviation.
