Udupi, Aug 14: The primary section of Madhava Kripa School celebrated ‘Bharat Ke Veer Diwas’ and the prize distribution ceremony in a meaningful and inspiring manner on August 13.

Colonel Madhav Shanbhag, the chief guest, spoke about the significance of Bharat Ke Veer Diwas and encouraged students to cultivate a sense of respect and gratitude towards their parents, teachers, elders, soldiers, and the nation. He inspired the children, who took a pledge on honesty, patriotism, and environmental cleanliness, to incorporate these values into their daily lives.

As part of the programme, students presented a patriotic song highlighting the importance of the nation, its land, water, and culture; a short skit conveying the role of each one of us in keeping our country clean; and a captivating dance performance. In particular, the dance conveyed a heartfelt message to the young students that the National Flag must always be treated with respect and should never be thrown by the roadside, into garbage bins, or into water bodies.

Students who emerged victorious in various competitions were felicitated and presented with prizes in the presence of the dignitaries.

Student T Anagha Padiyar compered the programme efficiently. Student Mazeera Fathima delivered the welcome address and student Ahanya Kadabinakatti proposed the vote of thanks.

The programme was successfully coordinated by teacher Hemalatha and teacher Prashanth.

The programme was graced by the presence of the principal, Swati Kulkarni; vice principals, Kasturi Kamath and Jyothi Santhosh; headmistress, Asha Nayak; along with the teaching and non-teaching staff.

Overall, the celebration was meaningful and successful, instilling in the children the values of patriotism, discipline, cleanliness, and respect for the national flag, while reminding them that honouring the country's soldiers begins with fulfilling one's own duties as responsible citizens.
