Sawant warns strict action against attacks on police

Panaji, Aug 14: Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has issued a stern warning against attacks and assaults on police personnel, saying strict action will be taken against anyone involved in such incidents.

Sawant said the police have been given full authority to deal firmly with cases involving attacks on their personnel and ensure that those responsible face action under the law.

The Chief Minister's warning comes amid renewed emphasis on protecting police personnel and ensuring that officers can perform their duties without interference or violence.

Sawant's remarks underline the government's zero-tolerance approach towards attacks on law-enforcement personnel and its resolve to ensure that such incidents are dealt with strictly in accordance with the law. Goa Police's official portal also states that violence and mob attacks will invite serious consequences under the law.
