Udupi, Aug 15: District police have detained two more key accused in the case involving the shooting death of businessman David D’Souza and produced them before the court on August 14.

Ermal Kishore Poojary (47) was detained by police on the morning of August 14, while Sadananda Devadiga (45), a resident of Kuthyar, was detained on the night of August 13. Kishore is alleged to have transferred money to Sadananda, who in turn allegedly transferred it to three contract killers.

With these arrests, police have so far detained seven accused in connection with the case.

When the accused were produced before the court, they reportedly told the court that they had been detained on August 10. During the proceedings, the advocate representing Kishore Poojary stated that Kishore was unwell and that the CCTV system from his house had been taken away.

After hearing this, the judge reportedly observed that the police could have sought custody of the accused if it was required for the investigation. The judge also questioned why this had happened and verbally instructed the investigating officer to provide an explanation.
