Mangaluru, Aug 15: St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), AIMIT centre celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India on August 15 with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. The celebration was attended by the management, faculty members, non-teaching staff and students.
The programme commenced with a prayer led by the college choir. Dr Fr Kiran Coth SJ, director, graced the occasion, while Fr Jerry Dickson SJ, persuing PhD in management at St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) AIMIT centre was the chief guest. The national flag was hoisted by the chief guest, followed by the national anthem.










The Independence Day address was delivered by Gana, assistant professor, department of data science, who highlighted the sacrifices of the freedom fighters and emphasised the values of unity, equality, justice, responsibility and service to the nation. A patriotic song by the College Choir added to the spirit of the celebration.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all those who contributed to the successful celebration. The programme was compered by Swapnil Pai, assistant professor, department of MCA who coordinated the proceedings smoothly. The celebration concluded with a renewed commitment by the AIMIT community to uphold the values of freedom, unity and responsible citizenship.
