Kundapur, Aug 15: The 80th Independence Day was celebrated at the IMJ educational institutions in Moodlakatte.

The chief guest, Dr Santosh Rao, CEO of MUTBI, Manipal, elaborated on the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat – 2047’. He said the vision aims to transform India into an economically strong, technologically advanced, self-reliant and comprehensively developed nation by 2047, when the country completes 100 years of independence. He stressed that the youth would play a crucial role in achieving this goal and called upon them to contribute to nation-building through education, skill development, innovation, entrepreneurship, research and social responsibility.

Presiding over the programme, Dr S N Bhat, academic director of IMJ Educational Institutions, said that while differences of opinion may exist on various issues, everyone should work together for the development of the motherland. He described the youth as India’s greatest asset and said they have a major role to play in the progress of the nation.

Chairman of IMJ Educational Institutions, Siddharth J Shetty, conveyed his best wishes on the occasion.

Professor Rajeshwari compered the programme, while IMJ AHS vice principal Soujanya Shettigar introduced the chief guest to the gathering. Professor Sushma proposed the vote of thanks.

The programme was attended by Dr Ramakrishna Hegde, principal of MIT Kundapura; Dr Pratibha M Patel, principal of IMJ ISC; professor Roopashree K S, vice principal of MCN; professor Hemalatha Kotyan, principal of IMJ CAHS; professor Aruna Bheri, principal of Vidya Academy; along with teaching and non-teaching staff and students.

The Independence Day celebration concluded successfully with a renewed commitment to patriotism, national responsibility and the vision of building a developed India.
