Mangaluru, Aug 16: Three senior citizens staying at a hotel in Attavar were rescued after being trapped in a lift for nearly an hour on Saturday morning. Fire and emergency services personnel rushed to the spot and safely brought them out.

The elderly individuals, who were on a tour, were staying in a room at the hotel. The incident took place when the three were heading down to the ground floor to check out and leave. Although the lift reached the ground floor, its doors jammed and failed to open.

Despite repeated attempts, the hotel staff were unable to pry the doors open. Having been stuck inside for approximately an hour, the trapped senior citizens were left in a state of panic.

Following a distress call to the Pandeshwar fire station, the personnel promptly arrived at the scene. They forcefully opened the jammed doors and safely rescued the stranded guests.
