Mangaluru: St Agnes College signs MoU with Mind Weavers

Mangaluru, Aug 16: St Agnes College (Autonomous), through the department of psychology and department of clinical psychology, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mind Weavers, represented by Dr Jaseem Koorankoot, Licensed Clinical Psychologist (India–Qatar–UAE) and International SFBT Trainer, on Tuesday, August 11.

The MoU was signed with the objective of strengthening collaboration in the areas of academic excellence, clinical training, research, knowledge exchange, and professional development. The partnership aims to provide students and faculty with opportunities for practical exposure, skill enhancement, research engagement, and interaction with professionals in the field of psychology.

Representing St Agnes College, Sr Dr Vinessa AC, principal, graced the occasion. Dr Premanad V, Ashwini K A from the department of psychology, and Rosita Sequeira from the department of clinical psychology were also present during the MoU signing.

The collaboration encompasses clinical internships, psychological assessment training, research internships, academic workshops, conferences, seminars, and professional training programmes. The institutions will also explore opportunities for joint research projects, publications, student and faculty exchange programmes, certification programmes, curriculum development, and mentorship initiatives.

As part of the initial phase, collaborative academic and training programmes will focus on areas including Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), behaviour therapy, parent management training, and counselling skills. The partnership also provides opportunities for students to gain practical experience through clinical internships and psychological assessment training.

The MoU further envisages joint research and development initiatives, including collaborative research projects, case studies, research seminars, conferences, and academic publications. Such initiatives are expected to provide students and faculty with wider professional exposure and strengthen the integration of academic learning with clinical and research practice.

The signing of the MoU marks a significant step towards fostering sustained institutional collaboration between St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru, and Mind Weavers, with a shared commitment to enhancing the quality of psychology education, clinical training, research, and professional development.
