Mangaluru, Aug 17: The annual general body meeting for the year 2025-26 of the Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh® was held on Sunday, August 16 at the Milagres College Auditorium in Mangaluru. The meeting commenced with a prayer, followed by paying tribute and praying for the departed members of the organization who rendered their service during the past year.
The president of the assembly Santhosh D’Souza, welcomed all those present. The secretary for the year 2026-27 Vilma Monteiro read out the minutes of the previous annual meeting and presented the annual report.

The treasurer Francis Monteiro presented the financial accounts. The spiritual director Fr Ivan Michael Rodrigues delivered his message.
The president of assembly Santhosh D’Souza in his address extended his best wishes to all the office bearers and activists of the association for their selfless service. He called upon them to respond immediately whenever issues arise at their unit levels.
He highlighted that the Catholic Sabha is a strong organization representing the common people of the community. Expressing deep sorrow and anger, he strongly condemned certain unseen hands-unable to digest the growth of the organization-who has been attempting to defame the Catholic Sabha, its president and its office bearers by circulating misleading Whatsapp messages.
He explained that all accounts are systematically audited by internal auditors, presented and approved in the monthly meetings, and subsequently audited annually by chartered accountants to prepare the balance sheet presented at the AGM. Thus, he affirmed that all financial transactions are maintained with complete transparency. He requested the members not to forward such baseless messages to others without understanding their core context and intent.
Units and zones that achieved the highest membership registrations during the past year were recognised and awarded, along with those that contributed highest subscriptions and advertisements for the ‘Amcho Sandesh’, magazine.
The general secretary for the current year, Vilma Monteiro proposed the vote of thanks. The meeting concluded with the singing of the national anthem followed by lunch.
