Mangaluru: Decomposed body of missing Kundapur fisherman found in Ullal

Mangaluru, Aug 18: The decomposed body of a 31-year-old fisherman from Kundapur, who went missing after a giant wave struck his boat on August 9, was found at Kotepura Alivebagilu in Ullal on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Narayana. He was part of the crew on the fishing boat 'Ocean Star' that had set out for fishing from the Mangaluru dock. Tragedy struck when a massive wave hit the vessel, sweeping him into the sea.

Following the incident, the boat owner and family members had been desperately searching for him for the past eight days. A missing person complaint had also been registered at the Pandeshwar police station.

The inquest proceedings were conducted at the Wenlock Hospital. A case of unnatural death (UDR) has been registered at the Ullal police station in connection with the incident.
