Very sad and heartbroken to hear about this tragic accident. My deepest condolences to the families who lost their loved ones, and prayers for the speedy recovery of all those injured. Such accidents involving private buses should be a serious concern for the government and transport authorities. Passenger safety must always comes first. The government should strictly enforce speed limiting devices, driver working hours and mandatory rest periods for bus drivers. There should also be proper GPS and telematics systems installed in buses to monitor speed, driving hours, harsh driving and other unsafe driving behaviour. It is very concerning if drivers are driving 8–10 hours continuously without proper rest. A tired driver can be as dangerous as an overspeeding driver, especially when carrying so many passengers. Rules are useful only when they are properly implemented and monitored. Authorities should take strict action against operators who do not follow safety regulations. Technology can help prevent accidents before they happen. Human life should always be more important than reaching on time or making business profits.
