Dubai, Mar 27: Dhwni Pratishthana on the occasion of 27th anniversary will stage Kannda play’ Ashdada Ondu Dina’ on 30th March 2012, Friday 5.30PM at Emirates theatre, Jumeriah, Dubai. Cine and theatre actor Mukhyamantri Chandru will be honoured with theatre award ”Sriranga Ranga Prashasti-2012”, Dr. Nallur Prasad, President Kannada Sahitya Parisht, Karnataka, will preside over the function, ambassador M.K.Lokesh will be chief guest and Ravish Gowda, Group Managing Director, Fortune Group of Hotels will be guest of honour.
Ashadh Ka Ek Din" is the debut Hindi play by Mohan Rakesh and is considered the first Modern Hindi play. The play received a Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for the best play in 1959. The three-act play is centred on Kalidas' life, sometime in the 100BCE-400CE period. Play has been translated to Kannada by Prof Siddhalinga PattaNa Shetti and directed by Prakash Rao Payyar.
