Udupi: Woman absconding for 17 years arrested

Udupi, Aug 22: City police here arrested a woman who was absconding without appearing before the court for nearly 17 years.

The arrested is identified as Vaneeshri alias Renuka, a resident of Begur Road in Davanagere.

She had been absconding without appearing before the court for nearly 17 years. The police produced her before the court on Friday.

She was an accused in a case registered in 2009. After being produced before the court, she was remanded to judicial custody and subsequently lodged in the Mangaluru District Prison.
