Mangaluru: Srinivas University celebrates vibrant Onam festival ‘Thakrithi 26’

Mangaluru, Aug 22: Srinivas University witnessed a grand celebration of culture and tradition as the Institute of Physiotherapy and the Institute of Occupational Therapy jointly organised “Thakrithi 26,” a vibrant Onam event at the university’s Pandeshwar campus.

The programme was presided over by Dr Ajay Kumar, registrar (development), Srinivas University. Addressing the gathering, he spoke about the significance of the festival, highlighting how Onam brings people together to share joy, cultural roots, and communal unity.

The event was graced by the presence of key leadership figures, including Dr Thrishala Noronha, dean, Institute of Physiotherapy (IPT), and Dr Pranjali C Mhatre, dean, Institute of Occupational Therapy (IOT). Other dignitaries in attendance included Dr Venkatesh Amin, dean, Institute of Management & Commerce; Dr Padmanabha C H, dean, Institute of Education; and Prof P Prashanth Prabhu, dean, Institute of Hotel Management & Tourism.

The festivities featured a lively lineup of traditional dance performances and engaging games organised specifically for the students, filling the campus with energy and enthusiasm. A major highlight of the day was the sumptuous Onam Sadya, a delicious traditional feast served to all participants, concluding the celebration on a rich and joyful note.
