Mangaluru, Aug 23:
A deep-sea fishing boat that had set sail from Ullal on the outskirts of the city sank near the estuary (Alivebagilu) on Saturday evening. Fortunately, all six fishermen on board were safely rescued.

The boat, named 'Ayan' and owned by Ibrahim Khalil, was returning to the shore after a fishing expedition when the mishap occurred. According to fisheries department officials, the bottom of the boat struck a rock and broke, causing water to rapidly gush inside.

Seeing the fishermen in distress, people in other nearby boats rushed to their rescue. They successfully saved all six crew members from the sinking vessel and brought them safely to the shore.
