Beltangady, Aug 25: A former technician of an Indus Mobile Tower is among three persons accused of stealing around 60 litres of diesel worth approximately Rs 6,000 from a tower in Bandaru village.

According to a complaint filed by Dinesh K (53), a resident of Kavoor, Mangaluru, and security supervisor with Indus Mobile Tower, the incident occurred on the night of August 23.

Dixith, who works as a technician at the Indus Mobile Tower in Bandaru, was inspecting the tower when he noticed three persons filling diesel into two cans near a car parked close to the road.

When he approached the car, the trio fled in car number KA 20 D 7442, carrying the diesel cans with them. One of those who fled was identified as Dheekshan, who had previously worked as a technician at the same tower.

The complaint states that Dheekshan and the other two persons allegedly stole around 60 litres of diesel valued at approximately Rs 6,000.

Based on the complaint, Dharmasthala police registered a case under Section 303(2) of the BNS-2023, vide Crime No. 62/2026. Police have taken accused Dheekshan into custody and are questioning him. Further investigation is under way.
