Udupi, Aug 25: An electric rickshaw parked in the shed of a house suddenly caught fire, with the flames spreading to a nearby car and a scooter, in an incident reported near Perampalli.

According to details, the electric rickshaw parked in the shed abruptly caught fire. Within moments, the blaze intensified and began spreading to a car and a scooter parked next to it. The house owner, who was reportedly suffering from severe back pain, panicked upon seeing the raging fire and cried out for help. Along with the safety of the family members inside the house, there was a looming threat of the fire spreading further from the burning vehicles.

Noticing the danger, alert locals rushed to the rescue. Braving the flames, they managed to safely pull the car out of the shed, thereby averting a major disaster and further damage.

The locals immediately alerted the fire brigade. Fire and emergency services personnel rushed to the spot and successfully brought the fire under complete control.
