Mangaluru, Aug 26: The Student Council of St Agnes College (Autonomous), in association with the IKS Centre, organised the Onam Celebration 2026, titled ‘Kalikha,’ on August 22 at the Open-Air Stage of the college. The celebration marked the spirit and cultural richness of Onam, bringing students and faculty together in an atmosphere of joy, unity, and festivity.
Final-year students Lakshmi and Arsh warmly welcomed the gathering and gracefully compered the event.
The principal, Sr Dr M Venissa AC, addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of celebrating our cultural traditions. She encouraged the students to participate actively in activities that promote unity, togetherness, and appreciation of our rich cultural heritage.




















A vibrant Chende performance by Thrairoopini Chende, Surathkal, added to the festive spirit of the celebration. The traditional performance created an energetic and lively atmosphere and was enjoyed by the students and staff. A tug of war competition was also organised as part of the celebration, providing students with an opportunity to take part in a fun-filled activity while promoting teamwork, camaraderie, and sportsmanship.
Anamika Santhosh, student coordinator, proposed the vote of thanks and expressed her gratitude to the principal, faculty coordinators, student council, students, and everyone who contributed to the successful celebration.
The Kalikha Onam celebration concluded on a joyful and festive note, leaving the students and staff with memorable moments of togetherness and celebration. The programme was held under the guidance of faculty coordinators Shobha P and Nimitha K, with the active support of the student council.
