Mangaluru, Aug 26: The St.Peter city deanery Pastoral Council was convened for an annual planning session on August 26 at St Joseph the Worker Church Hall, Vamanjur. Drawing around 52 dedicated leaders and representatives, the gathering focused on drafting a community-centric calendar of activities for the coming year.
The meeting was presided over by vicar forane Fr Richard Coelho, who steered the deliberations with insightful guidance.
Spiritual proceedings commenced on a devout note with a prayer service led by the parish leaders from Paldane.





Usha Fernandes, secretary of the St.Peter city deanery Pastoral Council, formally welcomed the attendees and presented the minutes of the previous meeting.
Annual Agenda: The core focus centered on mapping out impactful deanery-wide initiatives designed to uplift both the local community and wider society over the next few months.
Vicar forane Fr Richard Coelho, who warmly congratulated Usha Fernandes on her recent election as the secretary for the Mangalore Diocese. He conveyed the assembly's best wishes and invoked divine blessings for her new diocesan responsibilities.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Fernandes. She expressed deep appreciation to Fr Richard Coelho for his effective leadership of the session, and extended gratitude to parish priests, religious figures, and deanery leaders for their active participation.
Special acknowledgement was offered to Vamanjur parish priest Fr Lawrence Mascarenhus, assistant priest Fr Jeevan Lobo, and the local leadership team for their seamless hospitality and arrangements at the parish premises.
The gathering wrapped up on a warm, fellowship note with refreshments served to all present.
