Mangaluru, Aug 27: Snehalaya Charitable Trust (R), an organisation dedicated to serving the poor, destitute, and marginalised sections of society, celebrated its 17th anniversary on Tuesday with devotion and gratitude.

The programme, organised to coincide with the birth anniversary of St Mother Teresa of Kolkata, began with a thanksgiving Holy Mass. The Mass was led by the vicar general of the diocese of Mangaluru, Msgr Maxim Lawrence Noronha.

Fr Peter Reginald D’Souza, Fr Francis Crasta, Fr Joachim Monteiro, Fr Cyril D’Souza, Fr Charles Menezes, Fr Denis Suvaris, Fr John D’Souza, and Fr Sebastian concelebrated the Mass.

On the occasion, a Konkani book, ‘Hebronantle Moga Tuvale’, written by author Stany Bela, was released by Msgr Maxim Lawrence Noronha. The book chronicles the life journey of Snehalaya founder Joseph Crasta, his personal experiences, and the struggles behind the establishment and growth of the institution.

Clint Joseph, head of Snehalaya’s clinical department, was honoured with the ‘Best Staff Award’ in recognition of his outstanding service during 2025-26.

Speaking on the occasion, Snehalaya founder Joseph Crasta expressed his gratitude to the donors, well-wishers, friends, and supporters who have stood by the institution during its 17-year journey of service.

A large number of donors, well-wishers, and supporters attended the programme, which concluded with a fellowship meal.
