Kundapur: Bike rider dies after car rams into two-wheeler

Kundapur, Aug 28: A 60-year-old bike rider died after a car allegedly rammed into his two-wheeler from behind near Kannadakudru Cross close to Hemmady on National Highway 66 on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Narasimha Achar (60), a resident of Santosh Nagar, Hemmady.

According to reports, Narasimha Achar was riding his bike from Trasi towards Kundapur when a car allegedly being driven at high speed and in a negligent manner by Deepak Kumar collided with his two-wheeler from behind.

Due to the impact, Narasimha suffered serious injuries and fell onto the road along with his bike. He was rushed to a hospital for treatment but succumbed to his injuries before he could receive medical attention.

Traffic police station PSI Anoop Nayak and his staff visited the spot and conducted an inspection.

A case has been registered at the Kundapur Traffic police station.
