Udupi-origin trainee pilot dies in private training aircraft crash in Kanpur

Udupi, Aug 28: Abhishek Poojary (22), a pilot from Udupi district, died after a private training aircraft crashed in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, on August 27.

Abhishek Poojary was originally from Kadeberke in Kanajaru village, which comes under the jurisdiction of Hiriyadka police station in Udupi district. According to the information available, he had been undergoing training as a private trainee pilot in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, for around two-and-a-half years.

His father, Prabhakar Poojary, and mother, Shashikala Poojary, reside in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Abhishek would frequently visit his maternal uncle Jeevan Kumar’s house at Kadeberke in Kanajaru village, within the Hiriyadka police station limits, along with his family.

The family members have travelled to Kanpur for the further proceedings, and legal procedures are being carried out.
