Mangaluru, Aug 29: The Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University, successfully organized a carrom tournament from August 24 to 27 at the Aviation Campus. The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, with a total of 123 teams, including 86 boys’ teams and 37 girls’ teams, competing in the doubles category. All matches were conducted on a knockout basis under the supervision of the physical education directors.

The tournament showcased the students’ skill, concentration, teamwork, and sporting spirit. In the men’s doubles category, Suhan and Suhail Ahmed Farish from first year BBA aviation and logistics management emerged as the winners, while Ranjith Kumar and Tejas S.

Acharya from second year BBA aviation and logistics management secured the runners-up position. In the women’s doubles category, H S Nisha and Amulya K S from first year BBA aviation and logistics management won the tournament, while S Shivani and Chaithra K from second year BBA aviation management were the runners-up.

The tournament was conducted under the esteemed guidance and support of Dr Pavithra Kumari, dean, Institute of Aviation Studies. SWO, HODs, Sports coordinators, faculty members, student volunteers, and all staff of the Institute of Aviation Studies.

The tournament concluded successfully, providing students with an opportunity to demonstrate their sporting abilities while promoting a healthy indoor sports culture, teamwork, and camaraderie among the student community.
