Mangaluru, Aug 29: The state government has effected a major reshuffle in the police department, transferring several senior IPS officers and assigning them new responsibilities.

Amit Singh, who was serving as Inspector General of Police (IGP), Western Range, has been transferred and appointed as IGP, State Reserve Police.

Chetan R, a 2010-batch IPS officer, has been appointed as the new IGP of the Western Range. The appointment comes as part of the latest changes made by the state government in the senior police administration.
