Beltangady, Aug 30: In a tragic incident, a 14-year-old boy allegedly died by suicide by hanging himself at his residence in Kuriyala near Baipadi of Bandaru village on the morning of Sunday, August 30.

The deceased has been identified as Shravan B K, son of Bharath Gowda. He was studying in the 9th standard at Vani High School in Halekote here.

According to the details available, the boy had just celebrated his birthday on Saturday evening. However, he tragically took the extreme step the very next morning by hanging himself from the roof of his house.

He is survived by his father, mother, a sister, and relatives. A case in this regard has been registered at the Dharmasthala police station, and further investigation is underway.
