Moodbidri, Aug 31: A huge tree fell on the house of Neelayya Poojary, a resident near Handelu School in Puthige gram panchayat limits, following strong winds and heavy rain on Sunday.
The incident caused extensive damage to the front portion of the house. Several parts of the building, including the recently installed roofing sheets, were damaged in the incident.
The family has suffered losses estimated to be worth lacs of rupees.
The family members have urged the authorities to inspect the extent of the damage and provide compensation at the earliest.
