Bantwal: Auto rickshaw-bike collision claims youth’s life

Bantwal, Aug 31: A 25-year-old motorcycle rider died after his bike collided with an auto rickshaw near the Kandur-Pelattakatte bus stop in Sajipamuda village near Marnabailu here on Sunday night.

The deceased has been identified as Muhammad Rasheeq (25), a resident of Nandavara-Sunni Nagar. He was running a garage near Nandavara School.

According to reports, Rasheeq was travelling towards Sajipamuda to attend a programme when the accident occurred at Pelattakatte. The auto rickshaw, reportedly driven by Shivaji Kumar, collided with his motorcycle.

Locals immediately shifted the injured Rasheeq to a private hospital in Deralakatte. However, he had sustained serious head injuries and reportedly succumbed to his injuries despite treatment.

Bantwal traffic police visited the accident spot and conducted an inspection. Based on a complaint filed by Nandavara resident Zhanul Abideen, a case has been registered at the Bantwal Traffic Police Station.

Rasheeq is survived by his parents, brother, sister and a large circle of relatives and friends.
