Udupi, Mar 28: The enquiry into the rave party at St Mary's Island, held in early February, began at Malpe here on Wednesday March 28 with a team arriving at the island.

Deputy commissioner Dr M T Reju, SP Borelingaiah, Mysore division regional commissioner M V Jayanthi and ADC Kumar arrived for an inspection of the island.

The DC showed a map of the island to Jayanthi and gave her details of the event. The team then did a spot inspection of the island.

Dr Reju further informed that self-help groups had joined hands in cleaning up the island after the international festival, to which SI Sathish added that the people who had participated in the event were aged less than 42.

Revenue official Puttaswamy was also present.

Later in the day, public will be asked to assemble at the DC office and share any information they have on the rave party. Enquiry will continue in Udupi on March 29.

The Spring Zouk international festival held in the first week of February had attracted a a number of foreigners, consequently leading to allegations of drug abuse, sex and other unwanted activities atthe island. The issue became a rage in the media and opposition parties left no stone unturned to accuse the BJP-led government of immorality in the name of tourism development. A probe was later ordered into the event.

Indian Law and order is meant only weak and poor people... nobody has any hopes in law, so why waste of money on inspection and all, if u want pay some ramsome to authorities and then have fun.

Giving clean chit to MLA's watching porn movie and caught red handed, yedurappa the multi crore scamstar, halappa and kolappa and man more...never mind from which party they are, but it does not sound that any law and order is meant for these people....if one among us would have done this, we would have been hanged up by now...

My sincere request to the concerned authority before probing into the rave party incident. very recently I visited this amazing God gifted beautiful place of Karnataka "St. mary's Island". What security measures has government taken? There is absolutely no security guard, police, life saving jackets, toilets, changing rooms. When we can not take care of our own property no point in blaming foreigners. I have also heard lots of illegal activities take place. Lots of college students come there to consume drugs. A place where family comes and spends some memorable time and this is what we see. Why not government post few security personnel at least during visiting hrs (9am to 6pm)

Why make a mountain of a mole hill. What was wrong if you looked from a positive angle.

We watch worse things on TV sitting at home. Are the Hindi movies/serials anything better or worse.Do you stop your children /wife from watching ? Then why this hipocracy ? The talk about erosion of local tradition/culture is all crap.Lets be very frank as a human being...you and I certainly enjoy watching all this fun.The rest ( big conservative talk )is to cover the empty spaces in the newspapers !Let Mrs M.V.Jayanthi have a good summer vacation on St.Mary's Island at the tax payers expense.

Forget about the rave party! There were no toilets for urination and excreation!(for such a crowd)... Was a frustrated comment from a participant who wanted to enjoy this venue! Who ever conduct a party and charge money...please provide adequate toilet and water proportional to the crowd! nobody wants to party walking through shit! Organisers...provide toilets with water and then venture into events! Learn from Gulf desert dunes bashing!!!!

Eye wash by BJP. After a month you won't find any clues. Inquiry should have been done immediately. As such nothing bad has happened there? No rapes, no kissing not even foreign liquor, no landscams at St. Mary's Island. This all happens in Banglore in Yeddys Resorts politics. Who is ready to enquire???

Anyhow, enquiry committe had a great time walking on clean beach. Earlier BJP was a circus company. Now it is joker's company. Mr. Ismail has rightly said - the custodians of Indian Culture.

The rave party was a shameful thing to have happened at the beach but it was not only the foreigners who were responsible for this but all of us who witnessed it and did nothing about it at that time. The enquiry may not be a waste of time, if it can recommend strong guidelines, so that such things dare not happen again. The authorities who gave the permission for the party should be told not to repeat such cheap things in future.

No problem Madam the rave party at least happened @ beach but our own MLAs watched porn film in the HOLY HOUSE,VIDHANA SOWDA!!! Did any case booked by speaker,or police or is any rule of land applicable to them?Yes, police can't interfere in the affairs of the Assembly but however, how is honorable speaker mum and absolved two MLAs of wrong doing. They were caught on camera and there also hard proof.Arrest them and show the world LAW WILL TAKE IT'S OWN COURSE.HOWEVER, CAN THIS HAPPEN UNDER BJP GOVT?A MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION.
