‘Prajaseva campaign to deliver govt services at doorsteps from Sept 5’: Dr Shalini Rajneesh

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Sep 1: The Karnataka government’s newly constituted Prajaseva Department will launch its first campaign from Kudligi hobli in Vijayanagara district on September 5, chief secretary Dr Shalini Rajneesh has said.

The campaign, led by chief minister D K Shivakumar, will focus on taking government services closer to people and resolving their grievances through dedicated public meetings.

At every Prajaseva campaign meeting, public grievances will be handled through two separate queues. The first will cater to new grievances, allowing citizens to register complaints for the first time.

A second queue will address unresolved grievances and complaints that have not been satisfactorily resolved. Grievances already registered through Sakaala or the Integrated Public Grievance Redressal System (IPGRS), but which have received no response or remain inadequately resolved even after 21 days, will be taken up in this queue.

Citizens seeking to use the second queue will have to provide their Sakaala, CSC or IPGRS number. In case of time constraints, priority will be given to such complainants to interact directly with the public representative presiding over the meeting.

Following every Prajaseva campaign meeting, complete details of the proceedings will be recorded on the portal. Key highlights, photographs, videos and feedback from beneficiaries will also be uploaded to the ipgrs.karnataka.gov.in portal, Dr Rajneesh said in a statement.

1902 helpline for grievances

An Integrated Public Grievance Redressal System has been put in place to register complaints relating to services and schemes offered by various government departments. Citizens can lodge grievances through the 1902 helpline or the government’s grievance redressal portal.

Officials from different departments will be present at the meetings to explain eligibility for government schemes, available benefits and the procedure for submitting applications. Demonstrations of best practices will also be held, while drinking water and basic medical facilities will be provided at the venues.

After each meeting, details of grievances received, action taken, resolution details, photographs and videos will be uploaded to the portal. District in-charge secretaries will monitor pending issues.

Grama One counters at venues

Citizens can submit applications and grievances in advance through Grama One centres. Grama One counters will also be established at campaign venues, equipped with computers, printers and internet facilities.

This will enable citizens to submit applications and complaints online from the meeting venue itself.

Sanction letters, approvals on the spot

The campaign will also facilitate on-the-spot delivery of services. Eligible beneficiaries of government schemes may receive their sanction letters at the Prajaseva campaign meetings themselves.

Similarly, where grievances have already been resolved, the appropriate approval and confirmation certificate relating to the resolution may be issued on the spot, providing citizens with quicker closure to their complaints.
