Kundapur, Sep 1: Fishing nets that had sunk into the sea along with the ‘Sri Balanjaneya’ boat in the Gangolli estuary area on August 26 were successfully recovered from the sea.
Based on information provided by Chandr Kharvi, owner of the Kanchanaganga boat, Gangolli diver Dinesh Kharvi left from the Gangolli fishing harbour in a purse seine boat along with 34 fishermen. With the assistance of the fishermen, he successfully retrieved the fishing nets that had sunk into the sea.

The team left at 6 am and continued the operation until 4 pm on Monday, remaining in the middle of the sea throughout the operation. They brought the 700-vaar-long fishing net ashore and handed it over to the concerned boat owners.
The value of the fishing net that had sunk into the sea and was subsequently recovered is estimated at Rs 30 lac.
