Digvijay Accuses Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister of Land Grab

Bhopal, Mar 28 (IANS): Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh Wednesday alleged that Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his wife had forcibly acquired land in Vidisha district.

"While Bharatiya Janata Party state president Prabhat Jha had alleged that Leader of Opposition Ajay Singh forcibly acquired a plot, I do not consider him a serious leader. But I have to say that it is Chief Minister Chouhan and his wife Sadhna Singh who have forcibly acquired land in Vidhisa district," he said at a press conference.

He also claimed he has proof to back his allegations.

Singh, at a press conference inside the assembly premises, also alleged that Speaker Ishwardas Rohani had links with alleged mining mafia member Abdul Razzak and said he has written to union Home Minister P. Chidambaram to investigate the matter.

Razzak was arrested recently for illegal mining and the National Security Act (NSA) was also slapped on him. However, several pictures of him and speaker Rohani have come to fore and been widely published by the vernacular media here.

"There is a very old link between Rohani and Razzak and there should be an inquiry on the relations between the two. And I know, it is useless to write here, so I wrote to P. Chidambaram on the issue," Singh told reporters.

Singh, who was Madhya Pradesh chief minister for 10 years, was holding his first press conference here after the Uttar Pradesh polls.
