Mangaluru, Sep 2: Police have arrested a man who had been absconding for two years after being accused in a case registered at the Kankanady Town police station.

The arrested person has been identified as Kiran Coelho (41), a resident of Shediguri in Urwa Ashoknagar.

Kiran had secured bail from the court but had failed to appear for the court proceedings for the past two years and had also evaded arrest. Following this, the 3rd JMFC Court had issued a warrant for his arrest.

The accused had changed his address and gone into hiding. Police later received information that he had travelled abroad and was absconding there. Based on this information, a Look-Out Circular (LOC) was issued using his passport details.

On August 31, Kiran arrived at Mangaluru International Airport, where police arrested him.
