Beltangady: 24-year-old Congress worker dies in bike-tempo collision at Panakaje

Beltangady, Sep 2: A 24-year-old youth who had sustained severe injuries in a road accident near the Panakaje mosque on Tuesday evening, failed to respond to treatment and succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.

The deceased has been identified as Rins Shibi (24), a resident of Ujire.

The accident occurred when Rins's bike rammed into the rear end of a tempo at Panakaje. The severe impact of the collision threw him onto the road, leaving him critically injured. Although he was immediately rushed to a hospital for urgent medical attention, he failed to respond to the treatment and breathed his last.

A case in this connection has been registered at the Punjalkatte police station.

It is gathered that the deceased youth was an active worker of the Congress party and held various responsibilities within the local unit of the organisation.
